Formation of Sudanese- Eritrea joint higher committee

In the framework of Sudan's improvement of its relations with the neighboring states, the delegation of the national congress party led by Ibrahim Ahmad Omar has concluded a visit to Eritrea lasted for three days. The delegation discussed, during the visit suspended issues between the two countries and means of developing bilateral relations.

In a joint final statement, the national congress and the Eritrea's people's front for Democracy and Justice stressed the beginning of a new phase of relations between the two parties and countries.

The two sides agreed to form a joint higher committee between the two parties chaired by Ahmad Omar and his Eritrea's counterpart Muhammad Saeed and the committee is to work for pushing forward the track of bilateral relations between the two countries. It is scheduled that this committee will meet in the first week of July.
