Sharon calls for arresting Hamas, al-Jihad officials

The Palestinian citizen Imad Abu Diab ( 25 year old) of the Jihad Islamic movement was strongly wounded when his car went off while he was trying to open its door. It was found out that the car was booby trapped in the Toulkarem camp in the West Bank on Monday.

The movement held Israel responsible for the explosion and said that the Israeli occupation forces arranged the assassination attempt, while eye- witnesses noted that one of the passersby was wounded in the explosion.

Meantime, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon claimed to have regretted the killing of three Palestinians in Gaza by the Israeli tanks on Saturday.

Sharon renewed his call on the Palestinian Authority and its President Yasser Arafat to implement the recommendations of the Mitchell committee which calls for total halting of what he had called the acts of violence in the Palestinian areas and called for arresting members of the Hamas and al-Jihad Islamic movements who carried out operations against Israel since 1993 as well as to collect unlicensed weapons as well as to define the number of the Palestinian police to 30,000.
