Mubarak receives invitation to attend coming African Summit

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Thursday received an invitation from Zambian President Frederick Chiluba to attend the coming African Summit, to be held in Lusaka next month.The Zambian envoy said that the Summit acquires special importance as it will be the last summit of its kind for the Organization of African Union (OAU), which will be replaced by the African Union.
Chiluba's special envoy, who is currently on a visit to Egypt, handed over the invitation to Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher during their meeting in Cairo earlier in the day.
Maher stressed Egypt's keenness on attending the coming African Summit. The meeting as well took up Egyptian-Zambian relations in the various fields.
