ISESCO chief gets sudanese distinction and honorary university degree

Sudan's President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bachir on Wednesday awarded Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Rabat-based Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) the two Niles decoration.
A statement of the organization says Altwaijri was handed the highest distinction in Sudan at a meeting in Khartoum with the Sudanese president, in recognition for his efforts to serve the Muslim nation.
The ISESCO chief started a working visit to Khartoum on Tuesday and held talks with Sudan's education minister, Ali Tamim Fartak, on cooperation between Sudan and ISESCO.
The University of Sudan for Science and Technology also granted Altwaijri, who also chairs the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, an honorary doctorate.
Sudan's higher education and scientific research minister Moubarak Mohammed Majdoub, presented the honorary doctorate to ISESCO's Director General during an official ceremony held at the University
The Sudanese minister expressed appreciation to Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri's efforts in the service of science and technology in the Muslim world as well as his role in promoting the Islamic Arab culture.
