Israeli embassy in Amman denies granting visa to Houtari
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 6/8/2001

The Israeli radio said on Thursday that an Israeli diplomat in the Israeli embassy in Amman has categorically denied news that Saeed al-Houtari who carried out the Palestinian suicide operation in Tel Aviv on Saturday to have had entered Israel using an entry visa released by the Israeli embassy in Amman.

The Israeli diplomat stressed that al-Houtari is from the city of Qalqilya from the West Bank and was carrying with him Palestinian documents that enabled him to move between the Palestinian cities and villages without the need of an entry visa from the Israeli embassy in Amman.

The statements of the Israeli diplomat came as comments on what stated by the Arab member at the Israeli Knesset Muhammad Barakah of statements based on information he had got from the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.
