UN General Assembly preparatory committee on Child Summit holds 3rd session
Regional, Culture, 6/7/2001

The preparatory committee of the UN General Assembly's special session on following-up the Child Summit resolutions will hold its third session on June 11-15 to discuss the session's final document.

The session will cover holding various symposiums to discuss ways to endorse and develop child's rights.

Egypt's UN delegate Ambassador Ahmed Abul-Gheit Wednesday expressed Egypt's keenness on the success of this special session. "Giving concern to developing the child physically, mentally and psychologically is a social and economic need all over the world," he said.

As for the draft final document of the special session, Abul-Gheit said the Egyptian delegation is satisfied with its content in general.

He pointed out to Egypt's efforts in the fields of childhood and the establishment of the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood in Cairo.
