A Turkish envoy visits Israel and Palestine

The Turkish deputy foreign minister continues his visit to Israel and Palestine in his capacity as a special representative for the Turkish government, delegated by the Turkish prime minister Polent Acawid.
The Turkish Anadolia news agency said that the Turkish envoy carried the positions of the Turkish government on developments in the region and conveys a message from Acawid to the two sides urging them to return back to negotiations.
On Tuesday the Turkish envoy met with the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and with his foreign minister Shimon Peres and met on Wednesday with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.
