Lebanon is supplied by Syrian electricity
Lebanon-Syria, Economics, 6/7/2001
The Syrian and Lebanese prime ministers, Muhammad Mustafa Miro and Rafiq al-Hariri, respectively agreed in a telephone call they made on Wednesday that Syria to start providing Lebanon with electricity at a capacity of 200 megawatt, through the electricity line between Tartous, Zgharta, al-Deimas and Anjar. This measure will help to fill the shortage in the electrical power in Lebanon as a result of emergency cases and maintenance works in the Lebanese electricity establishment.
Earlier, the Lebanese talked about the status of electricity in Lebanon and the need of several Lebanese areas to electricity because of the damages and the possibility of getting Lebanon's needs of electricity from Syria.
