Kuwait and support for the Palestinians
Kuwait-Palestine, Politics, 6/7/2001

The Kuwaiti acting prime minister and the foreign minister Sheikh Sabah Jaber al-Sabah has stressed that Kuwait does not discriminate between one Palestinian and the other and believes in the Palestinians and their rights.

Sheikh Sabah added that concerning the Hamas movement and the explosions taking place in markets crowded in children, women and unarmed civilians, we are not with it, rather " we support the struggle of the Palestinian people against every one who attacks them."

In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Wednesday, Sheikh al-Sanah added following a lengthy meeting with the chairman of the political bureau of the Hamas Movement Khaled Mashaal:" I regret to be misunderstood before that we are with those who kill and explode but a reminder that we are, in Kuwait, not with that way, because we had experienced its bitterness when a Kuwaiti plan was high-jacked in 1985 when it was in its way from Bankock to Kuwait."
