Powell contacts Sharon
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 6/6/2001
The US secretary of state Colin Powell on Monday evening spoke on the telephone with the Israeli prime minister and told him that the US administration will continue to practice pressures on the Palestinian Authority in order to halt the Intifada.
The Israeli radio said on Tuesday that Powell explained during the telephone call that delegating the director of the CIA George Tenit to the region is linked to the realization of a progress to halting confrontations.
