Mubarak makes contacts on Middle East situation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Sunday received and made phone calls on ways to confront the deteriorating situation between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority.
President Mubarak received a phone call from European Union Foreign Affairs Commissioner Javier Solana and contacted Jordanian King Abdullah Bin Al-Hussein, within the framework of following up the latest developments in the region and finding ways to confront deteriorating conditions between the two sides.
Mubarak received a call from German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer and telephoned Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat for talks on means to contain the situation between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
President Mubarak Sunday made a telephone call with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
"The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and Israel's threats to the unarmed Palestinian people and other issues of mutual concern," according to the Syrian Presidency Spokesman.
President Mubarak also received Sunday a phone call from UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
The telephone conversation death with efforts made by and responsibilities of the international community to stop the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.
