A meeting for the Sudanese- Egyptian higher committee; entry visa end
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 6/5/2001
In the framework of continued Egyptian- Sudanese development, the Sudanese ambassador in Cairo Ahmad Abdul Halim said that a meeting will be held in al-Khartoum for the Egyptian- Sudanese preliminary committee to prepare the agenda for the meetings of the higher committee by the end of the current month.
He added that a meeting for the foreign ministers of Sudan and Egypt will be held also in Khartoum on June 27 and 28 to prepare for the meeting of the joint higher committee under the chairmanship of the Sudanese first vice- President Ali Othman Taha and the Egyptian prime minister Atif Obeid. These meetings aim to define proposed projects in the integrated framework between Cairo and Khartoum, especially exempting from entry visas to citizens of the two states.
This is, however, the second step following the decision to exempt diplomats from entry visas.
Abdul Halim said:" we will try to end this file before the end of the month in order to submit proposals and solutions to the heads of the joint higher committee."
