A forthcoming ministerial reshuffle in Qatar
Qatar, Politics, 6/5/2001

Well-informed sources in Doha expected a ministerial reshuffle in Doha to cover several ministries including the ministries of public health, education and higher education and the foundation of a ministry of trade instead of the current status in which there is one ministry of finance, the economy, commerce as well as canceling the ministry of transport and communications and converting it into independent establishments.

These sources have not ruled out that the new ministerial reshuffle will include woman and in case this happens, it will be the first developments of its kind as the highest post occupied by woman is that a ministry secretary in Qatar.

The last ministerial reshuffle in Qatar was in January this year when Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khaled al-Thani was appointed as a minister of the Interior and Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser al-Thani as a minister of state for internal affairs.
