New political party born in Morocco

A new political party named "Party of reform and development was born on Saturday by former members of the liberal "National Rally of Independents" (RNI).

Kohen, who chairs the new party, told 2M TV the party was created after the RNI leadership failed to heed their endeavors to reform the party.

The party said it will be working to involve large layers of the Moroccan society in politics, craft a set of initiatives to generalize schooling, develop information, lift injustice against women, protect children and mobilize the youth.

Kohen also criticized the present government's failure to start a debate on the situation in Morocco and settle problems and its lack of creativity in laws.

"We have tried to reform the RNI, party represented in the socialist-led coalition government, from within but were not listened to," he said.
