King Mohammed grants free pardon to 780 convicts

On the occasion of Eid-Al-Mawlid Annaboui (birthday of the prophet Mohammed), marked on Tuesday in Morocco, king Mohammed VI issued a free pardon to 780 convicts, including some who are serving prison sentences. A release of the justice ministry says 272 prisoners received a total grace on the remaining period of their prison sentence, while the prison sentence of 474 convicts was reduced.
Another 3 persons had their life prison sentence commuted, 16 persons were given a total grace on their prison sentence while the fine to which they were sentence was maintained, 5 persons benefited from a grace of the prison sentence and 10 others were exempt from paying the fine they were sentenced to.
The king always grants grace measures on national and religious days.
