Investments in Northwestern Coast

"Total investment in projects of drinking water, sanitation and roads in the northwestern coast have reached LE. 1.908 billion," said Egyptian Minister of Housing and Utilities Mohammed Ibrahim Soleiman.
"Drinking water investments in the area hit LE 1.200 billion," he said, adding that the third stage of Al-Amriya water station is underway with a capacity of 240,000 cubic meters per day and a cost of LE. 120 million.
He said that preparations are afoot to build a potable water plant south of Al-Alamein with a capacity of 334,000 cubic meters in two stages, the first costs LE 180 million and the second LE 170 million.
"Moreover, seven desalination stations are currently being set up in western Mersa Matrouh with a capacity of 5900 cubic meters per day and costs of LE. 70 million "said Soleiman.
He added that overall investments in roads and bridges in the northern coast hit LE 353 million, those spent on sanitation facilities reached LE 235 million, including LE 200 million for Mersa Matrouh and LE 35 million for the Mubarak Housing project in Amriya.
