World Bank supports education in Palestine

The World Bank has announced a loan worth $ 7 million to support education in the Palestinian self-ruled territories of Gaza strip and the West Bank.
The project will strengthen the Palestinian education ministry's capacity to manage the education system more effectively through improving policy-making, planning and budgeting at central and district levels. It will also support the implementation of activities in targeted domains included in agreed annual departmental work plans. The project will focus on training, school construction, vocational training and overall sector management.
The loan is to be paid back in 40 years and carries a 10-year grace period.
