Czech foreign minister visits Damascus next week

Czech Foreign Minister Yan Kafan has said his visit to Damascus early next week is designed to consolidate Czech-Syrian relations.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, the Czech Minister affirmed that Syrian-Czech relations are deep and traditional, expressing a great confidence in the possibility of developing bilateral ties in all domains: political, economic and cultural.

A delegation of experts, technicians and representatives of chambers of commerce will accompany the Czech Minister during his visit to Damascus.

Concerning the developments being witnessed in the Palestinian lands and the Middle East crisis, the Czech Minister confirmed that his country has been and is still considering the solution of the situation in the Middle East must be on the basis of the principles of the Madrid Conference for peace, especially the UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338 and the land for peace principle.

He announced that Praque feels deep anxiety over the violence in this sensitive region.
