UNDOF intensifies its patrols in Shebaa farms
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 5/29/2001
In a very grave development on this phase, UN observers in the Golan UNDOF started on foot patrols in the occupied Shebaa farms.
News reports said that the UN observers in the Golan are organising these patrols along the border areas between the Shebaa farms and the liberated areas of south Lebanon. These UNDOF patrols were seen at the axis of Burket al-Naqqar, al-Jel al-Ahmar and Wadi al-Mugher, which means that the UN stresses its adherence to the fact that the farms are subject to UN resolution 242 and its belonging official to the occupied Golan and that these farms do not belong to UN resolutions 425.
Meanwhile well informed Lebanese sources said that the position of the state of Lebanon to this effect is clear on that the Shebaa farms are Lebanese and that it is the right of Lebanon to continue all forms of struggle to liberate them and to return them back to the Lebanese territories; noting that they are subjected to UN resolution 425 and not to the UN resolution 242 as stated by the UN.
