A seminar was recently held in Damascus to familiarise travel agencies in Syria with the requirements of the German market and what are the likes and dislikes of the German consumer.
Consequently, how the German market can be reached, being no.1 in exporting the largest number of tourists to Syria.
Highlighting the importance of cultural tourism,Stefan Much, an expert in tourist information, gave examples of success stories, including that of Egypt. But Much affirmed that Syria has the most unique cultural tourism of all the countries in the Middle East, because Syria is the cradle of mankind, and it has monuments which have been very well preserved.
