Ebeid heads Egyptian delegation to G-15 Summit

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid will lead Egypt's delegation to the 11th Summit of the G-15, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on May 3031.
The G-15 Summit aims at strengthening cooperation among the group member-states in economic, trade and investment fields and coordinating stances in international forums.
Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Youssef Botrous Ghali who will represent Egypt in the G-15 economy ministers meetings, due on Sunday, said they will follow up and assess what has been implemented as regards resolutions and recommendations of the group's 10th Summit that was held in Cairo in 2000 under the chairmanship of President Hosni Mubarak.
He added that the Economy Ministers will also discuss coordination of the G-15 states stances on the agenda topics of the fourth ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO), slated in Doha.
Ghali who is to hold a series of bilateral meetings with the G-15 ministers of trade said two Egyptian promotion missions will visit Indonesia and Malaysia.
"Meetings will be held between Egyptian businessmen and their Indonesian and Malaysian counterparts to discuss joint cooperation in trade and investment domains," he added.
"Egypt will take part on the sidelines of the G-15 Summit in an exhibition to be staged by the group on May 27 through 31," he said.
The private sector of the G-15 states will hold a workshop on Friday on small enterprises and their role in development.
The G-15 was formed in 1989 and includes at present 19 member states namely, Egypt, Algeria, Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Jamaica, Chile, Venezuela and Mexico, Colombia and Iran joined the group last year.
