Moroccan FM calls for more than oral threats and extending real support to Intifadah
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 5/26/2001

Morocco's minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, invited Islamic countries to "stand by the Palestinian people" and do more than "oral threats."

In a statement to the press, the head of the Moroccan diplomacy who is taking part in a meeting of the Organization of Islamic conference currently taking place in Doha, said we should express our total solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and go beyond the oral threats to a real support.

He also stressed the need to take efficient measures, in accordance with the serious situation in the region and the plight of the Palestinian people subjected to the state of Israel's terrorism.

To a question on last week's decision by the Arab follow up committee to end all contacts with Israel, Benaissa said no country has expressed an reservation on the decision and what was agreed in Cairo is totally in tune with what we want to achieve in Doha.
