Morocco to refurbish several Mosques in Senegal

Morocco will conduct construction and refurbishment works in several mosques in Senegal, Morocco's minister of habous (Islamic endowments) and Islamic affairs, Abdelkbir Alaoui Mdaghri, announced on Wednesday.
The official, who is part of the official delegation accompanying king Mohammed VI in his official visit to Senegal (May 22-23), said the Grand mosque of Dakar will be completely restored by Morocco.
Other refurbishment works will be undertaken in Tivaounane mosque, base of the Senegalese Tidjane confraternity, he said adding Morocco has already started the construction of a mosque and an Islamic studies institute, named after the late King Hassan II, the Sheikh Al Mountaka mosque in the center of Dakar and a mosque in the south of Dakar.
