A call to freeze Mauritania's membership at the AL
Mauritania-Regional, Politics, 5/24/2001

The chairman of the united Arab list in the territories of 1948 Talab al-Sane' has called for freezing Mauritania's membership at the Arab League.

News reports said that al-Sane' sent a message to this effect to the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa in which he urged him to freeze Mauritania's membership because it violated the decisions of the Arab League and decisions of the Arab summits, which stressed the need of cutting diplomatic relations with Israel at a time when the Palestinian have been exposed to a war of extermination at the hands of the Israeli occupation army.

Al-Sane' described the visit held by Mauritania's foreign minister to Israel as a treason and those who commit it should be punished, the Israeli Hebrew- language radio reported.
