The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Tuesday stressed that Yemen's foreign debts have receded from $ 10 billion to $ 3 billion, thanks to the economic reforms program, applied by Sanaa since 1995.
News reports said that the Yemeni President referred in a speech he delivered on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Yemeni unity to a decrease in the budget's discrepancy from 17% to 3% and the recession of inflation to less than 10%, noting that average of the Yemeni economic growth reached 5%.
The Yemeni government adopted the a draft budget for the year 2001 stating a deficit of 87.7%, representing a decrease of 57.8% in comparison with the budget of 2000.
