'Read for your kids' Mrs. Mubarak's new call
Egypt, Education, 5/22/2001
Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak's told early Childhood Education Forum that Egypt has achieved much in early childhood education and care field. Children's first decade has realized its targets of medical and social care.
"In the second decade, said Mrs. Mubarak's, attention will be paid to early childhood and children with special needs. The talented children will be provided with means to develop their talents."
Meantime, Mrs. Mubarak's launched her "read for your kids' call. She highlighted the role of the family to prepare children to start their school years.
"Pre-school stage is our target," said Mrs. Mubarak's. Kindergarten (KG) is a significant stage that affects the character of children, she added. We intend to add kg to compulsory education, she concluded.
