The new formation for the Saudi Shoura council
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 5/21/2001

It is expected that the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz will approve within the few coming days the royal decision to nominate members of the new formation of the Saudi Shoura council for its 3rd session which lasts for 4 years and which starts according to its own constitution next Saturday.

The new council will not start its deliberations before its members will take their own constitutional oath before the Saudi King and this will be during his patronage of the works of the new session which usually takes place just one week after his official nomination of members of the council's new formations.

The sources expected that Sheikh Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Jubeir will stay as chairman for the council, and the same sources expected his deputy Abdullah Omar Nseif to leave his post at his own request, as he submitted an apology to continue his work.

The sources also expected that 41 out of 90 of the members will leave and 4 to be replaced by those who quitted the council, either because of death like member Taher al-Dabbagh or as a result of being appointed in other posts like Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Hameed ( the general president for supervising the two al-Harameen al-Sharif), Abdullah Bin Yahya al-Ma'lami ( the governor of Jeddah) and Abdul Wahid al-Hameed ( the secretary general of the labor force council).
