US urges to tighten control on weapons sales to Iraq

The US on Thursday urged tightened control on the exports of weapons and items concerning it to Iraq. News reports quoted the spokesman for the US state department Richard Boucher as saying that his country seeks towards what he described as an important change in its policy towards Iraq inside the UN, concentrating on strengthening control to prevent Iraq from building its military potentials at the time when the entry of items needed by the Iraqi people is facilitated.
