Morocco, Ghana agree to foster fishery cooperation

Morocco and Ghana agreed to foster cooperation in fisheries and related sectors.
Means to achieve this objective were studied at a meeting Wednesday in Rabat between Moroccan fisheries minister, Saeed Chbaatou, and visiting Ghanaian peer, Ishmael Ashitey.
Ghana needs Morocco's help to promote the sector, which plays a key role in the African country's development, said Ishmael Ashitey.
He said Accra wishes to benefit from Morocco's experience in training, scientific research, surveillance, stocks assessment and partnership promotion.
The Ghanaian official was part of the accompanying party of President John Kufuor of Ghana, who paid an official visit to Morocco May 15-16.
