New Israeli incursion in Khan Younis, 20 wounded

Some 20 Palestinians were wounded by the Israeli bullets and shells of tanks and rockets.
The Israeli forces supported by tanks broke into a Palestinian area close to al-Tuffah barrier in Khan Younis and the tanks opened fire at the Palestinians who confronted them and also bombarded several Palestinian houses in al-Amal quarters and the western camp of the city. A matter which inflected damages in several houses.
The International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC denounced the Israeli forces targeting of the Palestinian children since more than 8 months and called for exerting all possible efforts to enforce honoring childhood and protecting it.
On Thursday, the UN Security Council held an emergency session that lasted for one hour during which the participants discussed the tense situation in the Palestinian territories, at a time in which the US has repeated its rejection to any project might be proposed by the Palestinians to send an international force to protect the Palestinians.
On Thursday, the secretary general of the Palestinian Authority Ahmad Abdul Rahman has warned against a new Israeli military escalation in which Israel occupied Palestinian cities in Gaza and the West Bank. A matter which will accelerate more violence in the region.
Abdul Rahman said " we are now witnessing the last phase of the madness of the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon. However, this madness will make Sharon carry out greater military operations inside the areas fall under the Palestinian Authority in an attempt to end the Intifada."
Meantime, four Palestinians were wounded during the confrontations that took place on Thursday when the Palestinian citizens confronted the Israeli forces and their tanks which incurred into an area under the control of the Palestinian authority in al-Tuffah barrier in Khan Younis in Gaza.
Eye- witnesses said that the Israeli tanks opened fire at the Palestinian houses and unarmed people.
Palestinian medical sources said that the Palestinian Naser Abu Shanab( 64 year old) was hit by one bullet in his chest and he is in a critical health condition.
Eye- witnesses said that the Israeli occupation forces destroyed on Thursday at dawn the properties of various Palestinians in al-Qarrara town to the east of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, an explosive went off as an Israeli military vehicle was running near Nablus in the West Bank and heavy casualties were inflicted as a result.
Moreover, 15 Palestinians were wounded including five members of the Palestinian police as a result of the Israeli aggression on Wednesday at Jabalia camp to the north of Gaza and the city of Jenin.
Palestinian sources said the Israeli aggression against Jenin resulted in destroying the headquarters of the Palestinian scientific association and breaking the electricity grid and cutting electricity supplies from the city.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said that the Israeli forces occupied buildings situated inside the Palestinian areas in Gaza and will stay in these buildings for various times, according to security needs.
A Palestinian security source said on Thursday that the Palestinian police defused an explosive placed near a mosque in al-Mighraqa area, near Natsareim settlement to the south of Gaza.
The source stressed that palestinian citizens informed the police that there was " a suspicious body" 250 meter far from the mosque and that the police defused it.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian official in charge of health at the Palestinian Authority Riyadh al-Zanoun stressed that the continued Israeli aggressions against the Palestinians in which the Israeli army used an internationally banned weapons are resulting in great blood- shed among the Palestinians in a way each wounded is in need of more than 50 blood units.
In a statement to the BBC on Thursday, al-Zanoun called on the Arab states to offer urgent aids for treating the wounded of the Intifada whose number exceeds 26,000.
