Saudi- Yemeni committee recommends to revitalize security cooperation on the borders
Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 5/17/2001

A joint Saudi- Yemen committee has concluded its meetings in Sanaa and recommended the need of preparing a supplement on the border treaty signed between the two states during a meeting to be held for that purpose in Jeddah on June 12 in order to organize the work of the border authorities and revitalize security cooperation.

This was expressed in a statement following the first meetings held by the committee which is presided over by the Saudi side by Lt. Gen. Talal al-Anqawi and the Yemeni side by Maj. Gen Muhammad Bin Abdullah al-Tunisi.

The statement indicated that discussions were held in a brotherly atmosphere of understanding and identical view points and that the " joint committee accomplished topics listed in the meetings's agenda of the Saudi and Yemeni ministers of the Interior to study organizing border authorities."
