Bin Aleazer: Israel will not attack Hizbullah, rather Syria
Syria-Israel, Politics, 5/17/2001

The Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aleazer has renewed the doctrine of the new government of Ariel Sharon concerning the military conflict in Shebaa farms and on the borders with Lebanon. He said that Israel will not attack targets for the Hizbullah party, rather will attack targets belonging to the forces "responsible " for every thing in Lebanon, especially Syria.

Bin Aleazer said while attending troop maneuvers in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights: " I see in Syria the side responsible for all what is taking place in Lebanon."

He continued while commenting on the missiles launched by the Hizbullah against a position " Dalia" in the occupied Shebaa farms:" I will not go and open fire at the Hizbullah Party which is hiding behind civilians of children and women. I will not open fire at Hizbullah which hides behind children. But I will strike the responsible for what is taking place in Lebanon."

The Israeli minister addressed a message to the Syrian minister saying:" I propose to you to tell Hizbullah clearly not to work for escalating at your own expense."
