Syrian- Jordanian oil talks
Jordan-Syria, Economics, 5/17/2001

Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb on Wednesday received the Syrian minister of oil and mineral resources Muhammad Maher Jamal in the presence of the Jordanian minister of energy and mineral resources and the Syrian ambassador to Jordan Abdul Fattah Ammoura.

Discussions dealt with prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries especially in the area of oil and gas.

Discussions also dealt with means of revitalizing the implementation of the natural gas project in the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt.

Abu al-Ragheb underlined the importance of this project towards joint economic integration asserted by the recent Arab summit held in Amman.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent in Amman minister Jamal said that his talks with the Jordanian prime minister "were very good and reflected on the prospects of joint cooperation between the two sisterly countries in the areas of oil and gas."
