Al-Assad holds a short visit to Egypt

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday concluded talks with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and returned home on Wednesday last night with members of the accompanying delegation.
The Egyptian delegation and high ranking Egyptian officials seen off the President at the airport.
Earlier in the day, Presidents Mubarak and al-Assad held three intensive meetings, two were plenary and another one was a closed door.
The two presidents discussed the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the current contacts to stop the brutal acts against the Palestinian people, which contradict all international conventions, and ways to coordinate moves whether in the international arena or concerning the clearing of the Arab atmosphere with the aim of creating a common Arab vision to face current challenges.
President Mubarak held a dinner banquet in honor of President al-Assad. High ranking Syrian and Egyptian officials attended the banquet.
