Infrastructure of COMESA small-and-medium projects consummated

"Infrastructure of the network of small-and-medium-size projects in COMESA countries has been worked out to set the economic, political and social stage and open up markets for Egyptian products in the group's member states, "an official said.
At the operating session of the COMESA workshop on small and-medium-scale projects, Secretary-General of the Social Fund for Development (SFD) Hussein AL Gammal underscored in a word, read on his behalf by SFD International Cooperation Department Director Abdel Moneim Bakheit, the importance of cooperation among developing countries to explore markets and integrate in global economy.
The planned network will help Egypt exchange expertise with other members in the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern African), Gammal noted, expressing Egypt's readiness to help them set up such projects which enhance economic competitiveness and strengthen the added value of small and medium industries.
He called for coordination among COMESA members in the field with the ultimate end of creating an institutional environment that would help the countries have an effective access to international markets.
"The network will create a strong foundation for establishing a COMESA Free Trade Area, "Gammal said.
It will also create more jobs, develop individual skills and upgrade the quality of goods and services, he added.
