Unemployment in the Arab states reached 14.3%

A very recent economic study has stressed that the rate of unemployment in the Arab states reached 14.3 % of the volume of the labor force and that this rate is increasing 1% annually.
The study which is prepared by the diplomatic center for strategic studies in Kuwait, attributed the reason behind the increase of unemployment in the Arab states to several reasons including problems resulting from the economic reforms, public spending pressure, the backwardness in certain educational systems, besides the flow of foreign labor force into the Arab states.
A report by the Arab labor organization said that the rate of unemployment in the Arab states is continuously increasing and expected that number of those searhcing for work in the year 2010 will reach more than 32 million. The study revealed that the main consequences of the unemployment in the Arab states is to threaten social peace and Arab national security.
The report of the Arab labor organization estimated losses borne by Arab budgets annually as a result of unemployment to $ 115 billion. A sum which is enough to ensure 6 million job opportunities, which means alleviating unemployment by half within one year.
