Bloody confrontations in occupied Palestinian territories: four Palestinian killed 250 wounded by Israeli bullets

On the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of al-Nakbah ( the usurpation of Palestine) the Palestinian occupied territories have been converted to battle fields between the Palestinian Intifada youths and the Israeli forces which used tanks and rockets missiles in dispersing the Palestinian demonstrators which resulted in killing four Palestinians and more 249 wounded.

In details: A Palestinian medical source said that the youth Muhammad Jihad Abu Jasem from Jabalia camp was killed during the confrontation at Beit hanoun crossing and that another palestinian was killed in the same place.

Meantime, one of the guards of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin ( the founder of the Hamas Movement), Abdul Hakim al-Mana'meh from al-Maghazi camp was killed and his colleague Wael nassar ( 33 year old) was wounded while they were walking on the eastern line of Gaza city.

News agencies said that 53 Palestinians were wounded including a correspondent for one of the French TV stations in the confrontations which were erupted on Tuesday in various parts of Gaza, whereas the Palestinian Intifada youth retaliated by throwing stones and explosives on the Israeli forces.

In the West Bank more than 20 Palestinians were wounded in the confrontations which took place at the " civil administration" crossroad to the north of Ramullah and other 8 wounded at the northern entrance of Areiha and 6 in the industrial zone in Toulkarem.

In Jerusalem, thousands of Palestinians demonstrated and confrontations took place between them and Israeli settlers from the racist Kalh movement during which one of the Palestinian with the Israeli deputy minister of internal security Hedoun Ezra who was accompanying the settlers in their provocation, while students of Haifa university demonstrated condemning the occupation and calling for their national rights. The Palestinian Intifada youths threw three explosives at Israeli cars near Atrout airport to the north of Jerusalem.

At al-Raam barrier the Israeli forces prevented a Palestinian demonstration which was attended by Faisal al-Husseini the official responsible for the file of Jerusalem in the Palestinian Authority and several members of the Palestinian legislative council when they tried to head for Jerusalem.

Meantime, the Israeli forces opened tanks and heavy machine- guns fires at a demonstration attended by tens of Palestinians at the northern entrance of al-Beera and tens of Palestinian were wounded.

Meanwhile, the Israeli tanks bombarded al-Khuder town and caused several killings, while two Israeli soldiers were wounded in an explosion when their car was running in Adomim camp in al-Khalil.

The Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres called on the Palestinian Authority to totally halt the Intifada so as to be able to return back to the negotiations, while the Israeli President Moshe Kistav said that he agrees on the death penalty against the Palestinians who kill Israeli settlers or soldiers.

The chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat called on the international community, especially the ME peace process cosponsor to protect the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggressions and massacres, stressing that the Intifada will continue until complete restoration of the Palestinian rights, especially the establishment of the Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as a capital and the return back of the refugees, the elimination of settlements and halting settlement process in the occupied Arab territories.

The Palestinian Authority asked Jordan, in its capacity as the head of the recent Arab summit conference to convene a meeting for the Arab follow up committee next week in order to discuss grave conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
