Regular air flights between Iraq and Iran
Iraq-Iran, Politics, 5/16/2001

The Iraqi ministry of transport and communications has announced that Baghdad and Tehran are currently making talks to start regular air flights between Iraq and Iran.

The Iraqi weekly al-Rafeydeen ( the two tributaries of Tigris and the Euphrates) quoted the ministry as saying that starting regular air flights between the two countries falls in the course of Iraq's attempt to organize air flights between it and its neighboring state, noting that talks between the two sides deal with the possibility of running two flights weekly.

The same paper said that talks are also being made between Iraq and Turkey to organize air flights with one flight per week.

As for regular flights with Jordan, the ministry said that the Jordanian side wants to take measures to organize these flights.
