Egypt, Sudan defence ministers meet

Egyptian Minister of Defence and Military Production Field Marshal Mohammad Hussein Tantawi met Monday with Sudanese Minister of Defence Major General Bakri Hassan Saleh, who is now on a visit to Cairo.
The two sides exchanged views on the recent developments in the Middle East and the peace process in the light of the challenges threatening security in the region.
The two sides also discussed how to support joint military relations. The two ministers probed means of enlarging vistas of cooperation in the domains of communications and information technology IT.
Also Minister of Industry Mustafa Rifai and Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Mokhtar Khattab agreed at a meeting Monday with Sudanese Minister of Industry and Investment Galal Youssef Al-Dakir to dispatch a group of Egyptian experts and technicians to Sudan.
The Egyptian team will be entrusted with examining means of pushing up cooperation between both sides in the domains of paper industry along with setting up a sugar production joint venture.
Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al Bashir wound up Sunday a one-day visit to Egypt during which he held talks with President Hosni Mubarak on a host of issues of common interest.
