Egyptian UNS supports Mubarak, Arafat

The Egyptian United Nations Society (UNS) sent a cable of support to President Mubarak for his continued efforts to stop the "inhuman attacks by Israeli troops against Palestinians."

The society under its head Abdullah Gamaluddin voiced support for the Egyptian-Jordanian initiative to stop acts of violence by Israelis in the occupied lands.

The same society sent a cable of support to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in which it expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The society sent as well a cable to the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan urging him to stop acts of violence against Palestinians and to make available international protection for the Palestinians.

Meantime, the Egyptian committee for Afro-Asian Peoples Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) called for the continuation of the support of Intifada with all material political and moral means for the restoration of the usurped lands.

It also called for supporting the struggle of the people of Palestine and called for considering May 15 of every year as a day of solidarity with the people of Palestine.

It called on the world community in a statement to exert pressure on Israel to stop Israeli continued aggression, on the people of Palestine.
