Qatar summons an OIC emergency ministerial meeting

Qatar announced Monday it had summoned an emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to ponder on the "dangerous" situation in the Palestinian territories.
The meeting will examine "the dangerous situation in the Palestinian territories and the continuation of Israel's savage aggressions against the Palestinian people," said the spokesman for the Qatari ministry of foreign affairs without disclosing the date of the meeting.
Qatar is the current chairman of the OIC.
On the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the "Nakba," the OIC released Sunday a communiqu? calling the international community to shoulder its responsibility and guarantee protection to the Palestinian people.
The OIC secretary general, Abdelwahed Belkziz, called all international and regional organizations to coordinate efforts within international forums to secure the Palestinian people's protection and work so that this legitimate right be recognized.
The OIC secretary general described the current aggression perpetrated against the Palestinian people as "a savage aggression and a destructive war that threatens the Palestinian people's life, property and rights."
