Tunisian President: There are sides which use human rights to damage the country
Tunisia, Politics, 5/15/2001

The Tunisian President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali has stressed that there are sides which are using human rights " as means to launch distortion campaigns" against his country. In press statements he added: " These sides had sold themselves to foreign sides and Tunisia is not a republic of paper." Bin Ali added that he accepts the variety in the views and encourages it but he refuses categorically these sides " to have sold their conscience to the outer sides in order to undermine Tunisia's sovereignty and independence."
