Sudan, Uganda resume diplomatic relations

It was announced in Khartoum on Saturday that Sudan and Uganda decided to resume their diplomatic relations at the level of charge de affairs.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Sudanese foreign ministry said that at the initiative of the Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi, both Sudan and Uganda agreed to start steps in order to implement Tripoli- Nairobi agreement and on this ground the two countries decided to resume their diplomatic relations.
The statement added that this matter will facilitate accelerating the process of finding out a solution to problems suspending between the two countries.
The statement said that this initiative was made at the mediation made by al-Qaddafi between the two sides and according to that the Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir was invited to visit Kampala and attended the investiture of the Ugandan President Yuri Mousevini as President of the Republic after his re-election for the second time.
Al-Qaddafi left Khartoum on Friday for Kampala, while al-Bashir left on Saturday at dawn to the Ugandan capital to join a meeting to be attended by the three leaders to discuss means of improving bilateral relations between the two countries and giving them a push forward.
