Damascus: the communists release al-Nour paper

The al-Nour paper of the Syrian communist party (Youssef faisal wing) will be issued soon after months from the release of " its sister" " Sawt al-Shaab of "Bakdash wing."

Member of the political bureau of the Syrian communist Party Daniel Nemeh who will be the chief editor of the paper said that al-Nour paper which will be issued within days is composed of 12 pages and will be a colored weekly, including arts, sciences, studies and political commentaries.

As for the " Sawt a-Shaab " daily which belongs to the other part of the Syrian communist party. Nemeh stressed that " people do not notice a great change in it." Al-Nour, however, will be the third paper to be issue by a party from the National Progressive front parties following " Sawt al-Shaab" for Bekdash wing and the al-Wahdawi ( the unionist) for the socialists unionists. Nemeh said that the paper will be sold at 15 Syrian pounds which is three folds of the price of any official Syrian daily.

Al-Nour, however, was the paper of the Syrian communist party during the 1950s. It was closed in the year 1958 after the decision to nationalize papers in Syria following the declaration of the foundation of the " United Arab republic."
