One Palestinian killed, tens wounded on Friday's confrontation

Confrontations erupted following Friday's prayers in various parts of the occupied Arab territories between the Palestinian Intifada Youths and the Israeli forces which used bullets against the demonstrators. A new breaking in operation was carried out into an area totally under the Palestinian Authority.

Detailed reports said that the Palestinian Husam Fawaz Tafesh (18 year old) was killed by the Israeli bullets during the confrontation took place near al-Mintar crossing in Gaza while other four were wounded in the clashes to the north of Ramullah.

On Friday morning an armored Israeli force equipped with tanks and bulldozers entered the Palestinian self-rule areas near " Ghoushe kateive " settlement and destroyed several Palestinian buildings and positions while the Israeli ships bombarded a camp for the "special guards of force 17" for the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.

An eye- witness said that the Israeli forces incurred in Deir al-Balah for more than half a kilometer under heavy cover of tanks fire and destroyed the Palestinian position and six houses after exchanging fire with members of the position.

In the city of Qalqelya confrontation erupted after a demonstration organized by hundreds of Palestinians in protest of the new settlement building built by the Israeli army near " Bakeer" settlement and declared it as a closed military zone and used bombs and bullets against the demonstrators, while 14 Palestinians were wounded by the Israeli shells against Ramullah. Following these aggressions, Israel bombarded the headquarters of "Force 17" in Areiha and al-Khuder town in Bethlehem while confrontations erupted in Nablus following the Israeli rocketing against the city.

In Khan Younis a Palestinian source announced that Heitham al-Da'our died because of previous wounds as a result of the Israeli bombardment on the housing aggregations in the city two days earlier.

The Israeli army admitted that two Israeli soldiers were hit near " Ghoushe Katieve settlement after one of the Israeli positions was attacked.

A spokesman for the unit of the Palestinian "martyred baby Iman Hejjo" of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed the front's responsibility for the attack.

In the course of the aggressive operations, the Israeli occupation forces split Gaza into two parts. The main road which links the southern part of the sector to the north one was blocked and this will result in isolating the southern area whose population is 350,000 inhabitants.
