African first ladies back palestinian struggle
Regional-Palestine, Politics, 5/10/2001
First ladies from several west and central African states have strongly condemned the ongoing violence and humiliation against Palestinians particularly women, children and the elderly.
In a resolution adopted in Bamako, Mali, Tuesday at the end of a forum on measures to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality, the first ladies expressed concern over the prevailing situation in the Middle East.
The meeting called for an immediate end to this violence and the resumption of dialogue between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority.
The first ladies also expressed support for the struggle being waged by the Palestinian people for self-determination.
