Al-Assad to visit Muscat on Saturday
Syria-Oman, Politics, 5/9/2001
According to the London- based al-Hayat daily issued on Wednesday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will arrive in Muscat on Saturday in an official visit to Oman that will last for several days.
The Syrian President will hold official talks with Sultan Qabous of Oman.
The paper said, according to well-informed sources in Muscat, that talks between the two sides will deal with the peace process and Oman's continued backing to the Syrian right to restore back the occupied Golan.
Talks will also deal with possible developments in the ME region in light of the Israeli practices.
Worthy mentioning that President al-Assad had visited Oman several times before he assumed presidency in Syria.
