Arab League prepares to receive its new secretary general

Preparations are underway at the Arab League (AL) to receive Mr Amr Moussa, the new secretary general of the Arab League.
The few coming days will be witnessing receptions to honor the outgoing secretary general of the Arab League Ismat Abdul Miguid which will quit his post after ten years of service next Wednesday, after 7 days to hand this post to the Egyptian foreign minister Amr Moussa, who also spent ten years in serving his country as a foreign minister for Egypt.
Today ( Wednesday), the Arab League staff will hold a reception for the AL secretary Abdul Miguid at the main hall of the AL premises during which speeches commemorating Abdul Miguid's achievements will be made. Arab states permanent representatives at the AL will be attending.
On Saturday the dean of the Arab diplomatic corps in Cairo, who is also the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the AL Muhammad Ahmad al-Mahmoud will hold a " historical" dinner, to be attended by the Arab ambassadors and representatives in commemoration of this occasion.
The third party will be held by the AL assistant secretary general and will be attended by Arab ambassadors on Monday at al-Jazira Sheraton hotel.
Abdul Miguid arrived in Cairo back from Kuwait after he was invested by the ruler of Kuwait with the Kuwaiti order of merit, first class on Monday, as an appreciation for his efforts during his work time in serving Arab causes. During his visit to Algeria in April, the AL secretary general was invested with the first class Algerian order of merit from the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika in appreciation of his efforts.
On May 16, Abdul Miguid will be on top of people who will come to Moussa at the headquarters of the AL to assume his new post of office as a secretary general of the Arab League.
