Moroccan, French interior ministers meet in Marrakesh

Moroccan minister of the interior, Ahmed El Midaoui, conferred in Marrakesh Tuesday with his French peer, Daniel Vaillant, who is on a two-day work visit to Morocco.
The two officials afterwards held a meeting that was attended by France's ambassador to Morocco, Michel De Bonnecorse and their close aides.
El Midaoui hailed on the occasion "the longstanding" relations existing between the two countries and that are marked by frankness and underlined the two countries' converging standpoints on their cooperation that serves their mutual interests.
The French official voiced satisfaction over the two countries' shared resolve to promote bilateral cooperation in the interest of the region and in a way contributing to rapprochement between the two banks of the Mediterranean to make of the region a heaven of peace and stability.
The close aides of the two ministers then held an in-camera meeting to debate aspects of sectoral cooperation, especially in the realms of security and local councils.
