African meeting on fishery in Rabat

The board of the ministerial conference on fishery cooperation between African countries bordering the Atlantic holds its 4th ordinary meeting in Rabat May 8-11.
The fishery ministers of the board member countries will assess the implementation of the action program adopted by the ministerial conference during its latest session held in Conakry, Guinea, in October 1999.
The participants will discuss the progress made by the Morocco-Japan-third Countries cooperation project, the project to improve sea products quality and consequently the competitiveness of fish industries, and the projected creation of a regional training center.
Preparations for the ministerial conference fifth session, slated to be held in Libreville, Gabon, by the end of the year are also on the agenda.
The ministerial conference board musters Angola, Benin, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Morocco and Senegal. Morocco holds the permanent secretariat of the conference and hosts its headquarters.
